Principals
The principals of LOA Energy have significant working knowledge of the E&P sector. They combine strategic and financial acumen that has raised over US$ 3 billion in debt and equity for African Upstream projects since 2006, experience in public company listings, proven oil and gas finding expertise, fast track development and production capabilities.
Iain Wright
A petroleum Geologist with over 30 years’ experience in technical leadership roles in both the service sector and E&P companies, with over 20 years in West Africa. Instrumental technical leadership role in an entrepreneurial start-up with one non-producing asset in 2006 to a company with 29 assets in 12 countries and net production of 43,000 bopd (60,000 bopd gross) in 2013, with significant value added via successful exploration both near field and play opening. Responsible for three of the quickest independent developments to date in the Niger Delta and one of the three largest global discoveries in 2013.
Galib Virani
A third generation East African National with significant experience in the African oil and gas sector. With a background in Emerging Market Finance developed in the City of London, he has overseen the growth of a start-up upstream oil & gas business to one of the largest operating companies in Sub-Saharan Africa. During this time, he had responsibility for, and contributed to, Strategic Development, Business Development, Acquisitions & Divestitures, Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Raising. Has high level relationships within the African Energy sector in both industry and government circles.
